About the event

The opening day of April 16th will be correlated and enriched by a packed program of performances and talks curated by Sara Bizai, Victoria Fedeeva, Filippo Vane and Gaia De Santi which will involve artists and curators of the various exhibitions and not only around the theme of balance and fragility.

Among these we mention the chapter of The Ballad of Human Mutations of the artist Aliteia curated by Alisia Viola. The artistbrings at CREA a moment of “pure experience”. The spectator is asked to walk without his certainties now considered taken for granted, namely sight and balance. Accompanied by performers with Charcot-Marie-Tooth - one of the most widespread rare hereditary degenerative diseases - the public is invited to experience their own ballad. The Venetian red carpet is turned over to be the carpet of fragility as a new social value, both aesthetic and experiential. The performance ofThe Ballad It thus becomes a pronaos that puts the spectator in a position to open up towards the issues of diversity and welcome them as the primary form of the human being.

Do not feed wild Animals by Antonio Irre, an Italian artist originally from Veneto, presents a new performance created specifically for the open spaces of CREA Cantieri del Contemporaneo. A reflection on the city of Venice through the figure of the seagull, symbol of freedom through the centuries, today perfectly set along the commercial streets of Venice, where he specialized in the rapacious kleptomaniac theft of sandwiches, pizzas and croissants from the air.

Inspired by "I like America and I like America" by Joseph Beuys, the performance is a wish that the city will once again become a symbol of freedom and connection across the seas.

Beatrice Donda will bring the screening of performance Not a Cookbook performed on 22 June 2023 inside the MLZ Art Dep Gallery in Trieste, it constitutes an exploration of the flow of consciousness in the creative process of a work.

A bed at center stage as a tangible symbol of the place where the artist spent time writing his artist's book. A collection of poems born in 2019 and concluded in 2022, the first of a trilogy.

Forty minutes in which the artist, confined in a large room of the gallery, embarking on an internal journey in search of inspiration, interconnects with the elements that will then shape the pages of her poetry: milk, the crab, the cigarette, the eggs.

The audience and the artist separated by a large glass door from which they can voyeuristically observe what is happening inside the room as if they were peering through a keyhole, make the sense of intimacy that this act requires tangible. Something private and otherwise inaccessible instead turns out to be visible to the eyes of the spectators.
